Since we changed shifts to 1 in the morning, we were lucky to be able to spend weekends like normal people. For 2 years, we always get to go on dates every weekdays. I know that I should be thankful because of less people at the malls, restaurants etc. but it wasn't that much "festive". And no, I'm not sarcastic.
So last Saturday, we decided to make our date worth it by watching X-men: First Class and Super 8. The first movie was superb and I can't really explain how I love fantastically-written prequels. Super8 was a popcorn movie. The kid actors were adorable, extremely funny and MINT! It was predictable though, but we enjoyed it despite the guy behind me who can't keep thoughts to himself and kept on reacting to every scene in the movie.
After a frustrating hunt for the perfect doll/flat shoes, (we went to all the stores you can imagine and nothing enticed the inner "girly" in me. No spark, zero, nada) we had lunch at Cibo to reward myself of the perfect salad that I've been craving for the past 2 weeks. We ordered their Spinaci Zola which is spinach and gorgonzola with toasted rounds for our appetizer. It was tad too salty for me but we finished the entire dip with much gusto.

The only thing I look for in a good salad is: chilled ingredients. So for restaurants who serve salads at room temperature, specially vegetable salads, step it up. Any salad served cold is good and Cibo's salads are one of the main reasons why I keep going back (well aside from their Prosciutto Di Parma pizza) because they serve their salads the proper way. Fresh greens, sweet and plump tomatoes, crisp cucumbers and big olives showered with the perfect, tangy, sweet and sour wine vinaigrette. There is nothing else I could ask for. I can finish the entire thing alone. The boss ordered a solo plate of Rigatoni All 'Alfonso for his pasta fix:

The dish was creamy and sweet because of the the stewed tomatoes with a little kick of chilli. The rigatoni was al dente to the bite and the garlic bread that came with it was toasted to perfection. The hefty price tag of this pasta dish made justice because we literally cleaned the plate of any morsel. Dining at Cibo is not cheap, but the food makes me come back everytime I crave for Italian food because of it's quality and taste. Best Italian restaurant I tried so far and still on the lookout for more.
And yes, our date was awesome. :)
Overall dining experience : 4 out of 5 skulls
