Of stocks and future plans

It was a boring and sunny morning during my junior year when my Economics professor gave us a pop - quiz. The only question was:

"What are stocks?"

I was flabbergasted as I absolutely had no clue. We already discussed the said topic but I don't remember anything because maybe: 1. I was sleepy, 2. I was buried - deep into my thoughts about how my crush knew my name or 3. I was just not interested at all. I stared blankly at my crumpled and recycled bond paper and before I knew it, time was up. Disappointed as I was, my professor just gave me a-you-can-do-better look and gave my paper back now marked with a big and bold zero beside my name.

That was a casual wake-me-up moment that I immediately buried myself in the library during my free hours to know as much as I can about stocks and later realized how significant it is in a corporation. I'm not going to lecture you about it since I know you can simply ask Google and watch video tutorials on you own. Since then, it has been a lifetime dream of mine to put up a business like what my Granny did. She has a private market that she runs for almost 2 decades now. She used to pay for a little stall where she can sell meat until she made enough money and decided to build a market of her own where she can sell without having to pay for a stall. Her investments returned after 5 years and she is now on the process of expanding. Now, that’s not an easy wait.

But of course, I won't be putting up my own market. The bf and I want to have our own gourmet restaurant. But it is not an easy feat. With the competitions in the market today, we still have a lot to learn and practice. There are also franchising opportunities and another way is to buy stocks. You see, stocks are tricky. You invest your money on something that you are not sure. It is also like putting up a business without the hard labor. You can just sit at the comfort of your own home and monitor them online or in print. There are a lot of ins and outs in the stock market world. Annually, companies like Barclays' announce 30 best stock picks. Stock market analysts do that too. So if you were to purchase stocks, you should talk to these people first. Just like when eating out, you tend to check reviews and see if this specific restaurant is good or bad to get your money's worth.

So yeah, I sure will be blogging about any opportunity that will come my way. Be it a business or who knows? I can be in Barclay's top 30 soon?
