I'm back after weeks of hiatus! Been busy so I will update you in one long post. Harhar.
After watching Transformers 3 at Gateway Mall, we went to an impromptu roadtrip to Tagaytay. I've been meaning to go there since I heard a lot of raves about Leslie's must - try bulalo (yes, I haven't been to Tagaytay for quite a while already). So we made our way from the traffic - less C5 to Sta. Rosa while singing our hearts out to Jessie J's Price Tag and waving hi to curious onlookers. We arrived a little past 8 in the evening and the cold breeze of the place welcomed our Manila - heat - tortured bodies.
Please pardon the quality of the pictures, I only used my camera phone.
I believe this is the viewing deck |
So we settled in one of the tables near the viewing deck just to savor every bit of cold and fresh air we can get then ordered our dinner. We settled for their Special Bulalo, Sisig, Chopsuey and rice.
Special Bulalo P599 |
Chopsuey P245 |
the sisig is not worth mentioning |
I expected a lot from their "special" bulalo. It is called special because they added vegetables compared to the regular without any. First, the soup was not hot. Second, the beef was not tender like any other bulalo should be. Third and last, it was salty! I was disappointed because the bulalo near our place was way better. The chopsuey had shrimps and you can tell from the crunchyness of the vegetables that it was just cooked. So that's okay. The sisig? Never mind. Also, be ready to pay P49 for a cup of rice. Yes, P49. That is enough to buy me a kilo already. The rice was not anything special, not jasmine rice or any of that kind. It is just plain, regular, P28 per kilo - kind - of rice. But hey, they refilled our soup for free. Oh well.
So yeah, I just enjoyed the company of my adored friends and told myself I'm never coming back. Their restrooms are unique though.
mine - like theme with train tracks and all that jazz |
I honestly tried those pumps but no water came out haha! |
my becky friends <3 |
So after dinner, we hopped on to the other side of the compound and had coffee at Starbucks to just lounge, talk more and welcome Julia's birthday. While we were ordering drinks, we told the baristas that one our friends is celebrating his birthday and look what they wrote on his cup:
Sweet eh? <3 |
All in all, it was a fantabulous night. This is our first ever road trip and I am telling you, going with your very best friends makes it more fun. I can remember the driver of the motorbike waved back at us and smiled after we rolled down our windows and waved hi! We were all laughing our guts out and singing like crazy! I would like to thank Chadi, for organizing the movie date, Julia for the coffee treat, Curly for being late (again) and Meng for the ride. Too bad Kc and the Boss wasn't able to come because they had their own businesses.
One last thing, I'm enrolled! I need to refresh my Spanish vocab and put it to good use and so I can freely talk and give my love to my baby sister in Madrid. Classes start on July 21 and I can't wait that I got myself a cute Hello Kitty notebook haha! :)
Hasta luego!
