Booking this resort was a no - brainer for me because the rates were so cheap in www.agoda.com where I signed up for the very first time. Reviews were awesome compared to others with the same price and even higher. The hotel is located along the D'Mall and contrary to what I read, it was not noisy at all. We had a peaceful sleep the entire time we were there. We arrived pretty early for our check-in time so we just needed to present our voucher, fill up a guest form and leave our things and we just came back at 2 in the afternoon. Yes, it was that easy.
the building consists of 4 floors with a roof deck |
Our room is located on the 2nd floor. We booked the Deluxe Room Double Bed Courtyard View which normally costs P5,200/night (Agoda rate) but got it for only P1,800. Definitely a steal!
The room includes 2 double sized beds, cable TV, hot and cold shower, phone and a safe. WiFi signal is very weak. You need to get out of the room or to the balcony to get a signal but be patient because the internet is crawling. Water pressure in the restroom is strong but regulating the hot and cold shower may take a little while.
Here's a funny story: as we are just about finished arranging our things on the cabinets provided, the guy from the front desk knocked on our door and even w/o saying anything, just walked in and checked if we have already unpacked our things (I was just in my shirt and underwear! I wasn't able to do or say anything and I just hid behind the door!!!) because he said that we were in the wrong room. He apologized upon seeing me and walked out the door and said that he will just transfer us to the next room on the same floor. He even tried to compensate it by saying that the air conditioning there was much better. I wasn't able to take pictures of the room we transferred to because of pure disappointment. The only difference was, it had a door leading to the adjacent room. Oh well, charge to experience.
The next morning, we woke up early because we wanted to lounge on the beach before our trip to Ariel's Point. So we went up to the roof deck and ordered breakfast which is included in the room rate.
The place was a little small and it can get packed by 9am onwards so be there early. You can order American and Filipino breakfast with a choice of Mango, Orange and Pineapple juice. Unlimited water and coffee is also available.
Bacon, eggs, toast, jam and butter |
Pork Tocino, eggs and rice |
Nothing special about the food so there's nothing much to say. The staff cleans your room everyday even if you don't want to so expect fresh towels on your made up bed when you come back from your daily activities. The only problem we had was the air conditioning. There is a remote control provided which is meant for you to freely adjust the temperature as you wish. But sadly, the unit is already pre-programmed so forget about it. We turned on the ceiling fan because it was a little humid when you first step in. I just don't understand why is there a remote control if you cannot use it in the first place? Sigh.
Will I go back? Maybe if it's free.
Overall experience : 3 out of 5 skulls
